The Simple Living Committee is a non profit organisation founded by Danish artist Nadia Plesner in 2008. (Originally named The Nadia Plesner Foundation).
The committee was founded following Plesner's campaign Simple Living and has grown to involve more and more people and projects.
The original idea was to use art as a platform to raise awareness for people in need and raise money for humanitarian projects. Besides the campaign work we have shipped medical equipment or school equipment to countries like Uganda, Tanzania, Syria and Yemen.
The committee has four board members and many volunteers who contribute with practical help and container packing. Our shipments have been in collaboration with Mærsk, MS Action Aid, UN and private sponsors.
We currently have a strong partnership with Herning highschool in Denmark, whose students work hard and dedicated to support our partner in Tanzania: The Hananasif Orphanage Center.
