CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL IN DENMARK

Since the Simple Living Committee was founded in 2008 we have received many generous donations of medical equipment from three hospitals in Denmark: Rigshospitalet, Gentofte Hospital and Hvidovre Hospital. This equipment has made a great difference for people in countries like Syria, Uganda and Yemen.

To thank the hospitals for their kind donations, Nadia Plesner offered to paint a children's department at Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen. She suggested two themes: Alice in Wonderland or an ocean theme, and the children decided that they wanted the ocean.

Nadia painted the water and the sand and then the children could wish for whatever fish or animal they would like to see in the water.

The project took place from September 2012 - May 2013.

As the children decided the objects, the result became quite creative.

Nadia had this talk with a four year old boy:

Nadia: Would you like to choose a fish for the wall?

Boy: Yes!

Nadia: What kind of fish would you like?

Boy: A tractor!
